Project Objective
With limited available space in their existing facility and an urgent need to expand to meet the demands of their research and development, our client, a University Department of Electronic and Electrical Engineering, requested our recommendations.
They required an ISO 7 cleanroom facility with temperature control and filtration to prevent contamination during testing, ensure high quality standards and efficient data analysis.
The Process
We were appointed to help design and build an ISO 7 cleanroom facility to enable our client to further their research and to maintain their high quality standards.
After surveying the area of their existing Lab, we worked with the client to ensure an efficient use of space to create the facility and with the capability for expansion in the future. Particular attention was given to the layout of rooms within the cleanroom facility to ensure all areas were the appropriate size for goods and trolleys passing in/out and make sure no areas would be unutilised.
Results
Working closely with the internal team and after the successful installation of the new ISO 7 cleanroom facility, our client has benefited from:-
- The ability to carry out research within a clean area
- A designated area to ensure all products meet high quality standards
- Reduced costs as outsourcing has been decreased
- The capability to expand research and development programmes
